Principal's Message

Hello Titans,

We have had an excellent start to the year!  It has been great having students and teachers back in the building and amazing to walk down the halls and listen to the great teaching going on in all of our classrooms. We truly have some of the best students and teachers anywhere!
We really want to ensure that all of our students are experiencing success in the classroom. Two years ago we introduced “Titan Time”. Titan Time has been very successful and has helped many of our students achieve at higher levels. Click Here for the video we show all students about Titan Time.
This year we are instituting a new program called “Working Lunch” that is specifically for 8th and 9th grade students. The way the program works is:

  • Each Thursday teachers refer students who need additional help to working lunch
  • On Friday, students and parents will be notified that the student will be in working lunch for the following week.  (The student is encouraged to make up any missing work over the weekend. If they get it done they turn their work into Mrs. Hartvigsen and don’t need to attend the working lunch).
  • On Monday, the student will be let out of his 4th or 5th period class five minutes early. The student will get his/her lunch and take the lunch to Mrs. Hartvigsen’s room. They will have time to eat their lunch and will use the remainder of the time to make-up any missing work.  Mrs. Hartvigsen will have a list of assignments the student needs to be working on.  Once the work is made up, the student no longer needs to attend working lunch. They might only go one day or they may have to attend all week, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done.

Our goal is to provide additional help/support to students who need it. The intent is not to punish or embarrass students, rather to provide one more opportunity during the school day to receive help.  Click HERE to see the video we showed all Titans to explain this new process.
For our 7th graders, we have a program called “Titans Tutor”. This takes place during Titan Time and we match 7th grade students who need some individual tutoring with 9th grade Honor Society members.  If you are interested in having your 7th grade student participate in Titans Tutor, please call Mrs. Hall or Mrs. Hubbard.

We are looking forward to another great year! It is great to be a Titan!
