Principal's Message

Happy February!
Our month is flying by and midterms are this Wednesday.  We will be holding Parent/Teacher Conferences on February 22nd from 1 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.  The teachers will be in their classrooms for this conference and if you do not know your students schedule, come to the main office and we can help you.
Mr. Deamer and Michael Welsh from Morgan Stanley are hosting a college financial planning, college saving plans, and FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, meeting on February 22nd at 5:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. in lab 006. It is never too early to be saving for college tuition and understanding the process of acquiring financial student aid.
The PTSA is holding a book fair starting on February 21st and running through the 24th. Books can be purchased during lunches and at our Parent/Teacher Conferences. We appreciate your support as we encourage our students to be readers of many different books, genres, and materials.
We need 4 people to serve on our Community Council for the 2017-2018 school year. The council meets four times during the year, gives input on school functions and approves requests for use of Trust Lands monies. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Earnest.
Our area has been involved in a boundary study for the purpose of easing some stress off the Fremont cone. Our Orion committee has met 3 different times and we took our suggestions to the WSD boundary committee twice. There will be an Open House on February 23rd, 6 P.M. at Weber High School where the district committee members will explain the proposed boundary changes. Any questions regarding the changes will need to be directed to our Orion committee and a card with our contact information will be handed out at this meeting. The district committee with present the questions and concerns to the Weber School Board members and the board members will make the decision on the new boundaries. If you have questions or concerns, attending this meeting is an important step in helping you understand the changes.
The Lady Titans start our basketball season off this Thursday with a home game against Roy Jr. We wish them Good Luck with their season.
Our spring sports, student government elections and cheer tryouts are right around the corner. We encourage all students to get involved in these activities and to work hard in the classroom so they are eligible to tryout.
Please follow our Twitter and Instagram feeds as we shoot out great things that are happening in our school.
I want to give a huge shout out to our student government kids and the great job they did with our assembly this past Friday. It was well planned, the activities were fun, and it was very entertaining. Great job!  Also, thank you Mrs. Harrell for showing us all how to dunk!
Have a great month and please contact us with concerns, questions, or let us know things we are doing well!
