Dragonwatch

Reviewed by Matthew Hadlock

Dragonwatch by Brandon Mull is a fantasy and action book. Though generally read by young adults, I strongly recommend this book for anyone who is into fantasy and action. It is appropriate for all ages and is now a series in the making!

Deep in the sacred Dragon sanctuary of Wyrmroost, Celebrant, the Dragon King, is plotting his revenge against human-kind. He is crazed by the sanctuaries thought as prisons. He wants nothing more than to destroy his captors and return to the dark ages, when dragons ruled with no borders or rules. His time has come to break free and regain power.

No person will be able to contain Celebrant’s horde’s power. “It will take the ancient order of Dragonwatch to gather again if there is any hope of survival.”

In ancient times, Dragonwatch consisted of wizards, Dragon slayers and others who guarded the sacred land. But many of the ancient wizards have died. And so, one of the last wizards still alive reaches out to Grandpa Sorenson for help.

This book was amazing. It leaves you with a surprising cliffhanger at the end, but I still enjoyed it. At some parts, it was slow, but as you read farther into the book, it starts to get fast. It was easily understandable and was easy to know what was going on. The book was amazing.
