  • Beginner Orchestra

Students may purchase/ order items through a vendor, or check items out through the orchestra department as supplies last. Students on fee-waiver have first priority on school instruments and equipment. After that, items will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Instrument and equipment for ALL instruments must include the following: case, bow, rosin, soft instrumental cleaning cloth and performance mute
  • Violin or Viola: Shoulder rest required, no exceptions
  • Cello: Rock stop (preferably with strap)
  • Bass: Rock stop
  • String Basics Book 1, Kjos Music Company Publications  (for specific instrument)
  • String Basics Book 2, Kjos Music Company Publications  (for specific instrument)
  • Pencil that fits into the instrument case
  • Tuner and Metronome (Korg is a recommended brand. You can find free application software on smartphone devices and for Chromebook)
  • Music Stand (for home practice and field trips)
