Band Concert! Performance from the First Orion Jr High Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Beginning Band and Advanced Band
9th grade band invitational! The 9th grade band students took a trip up to Weber to see what High School band is like. They met Mr. Van Bibber, played with the current high schoolers, and learned how to fit band into their high school schedule with all the AP classes they’ll probably want.
We took the Band, Theater, Orchestra and Choir classes on a trip to visit all of the current 6th graders who will come to Orion next year! Each group performed and talked about what kind of things you can do at Orion.
Chamber Choir traveled to Weber High School for the day to rehearse with a combined group of choirs from the Weber Cone. After several hours of practice, they performed that evening.

Students are hard at work Completing the Capstone Projects of the semester. We have some Designing and then creating custom Cutting Boards. While others are quickly laying out and framing their scale model buildings.
Students have entered the world of Food, as Food Scientist. They are trying their hand at designing and creating their own Spice Blend to make a Savory Popcorn Snack. They are making a sample size and then taste testing them over a two day period. Trying variations during this time to make the best one.

Besst Realty received a nomination for Ms. Park as part of their 12 Days of Christmas. They showed up as a surprise and read her the nomination letter and gave her a minky blanket and $100 gift card.

Students had the awesome opportunity to learn in using Virtual Reality about the Berlin Wall and celebrate the end of it with a Berliner! Thank you to WSD Digital Teaching & Learning Department for helping us out!
3D Art 1st year art students make ceramic masks
Students learned about the different ways spying happened during the Revolutionary War. They then were put in groups of four and given an envelope with four different acitivities to figure out what message was being sent. The winning group had to put it all together to complete a message. If they were first, they got a key to the lockbox and and all the candy within.
Mrs. Lee's CCA students did a Health Science lab where they simulated Lasik Eye Surgery (peeled a grape), Robotic Surgery (did origami with chopsticks), and took vitals with blood pressure cuffs and oximeter devices!
The Educators Rising club painted pumpkins to look like their favorite teachers for their October Club meeting! Can you guess who they are?
Students in 3D learned how to create mosaics! They carefully cut pieces of glass to create beautiful pictures of various objects or pictures of their favorite scenery!
Students have been learning about the education profession. They did class projects and designed "bulletin boards" and dioramas of miniature classrooms!
The Weber High Marching Band, which many current and former Orion students participate in, came to our school to help students start their day! They ended marching through the hallway.
