Snail Observations in science class
Theatre design students make Edwardian style hats

As we cover man's obsession with flight over the centuries, we have been learning about key scientific break throughs that helped man get to modern aviation today. This week we discussed how three French scientists discovered that the atmosphere is like a fluid, and from this Buoyancy becomes key to achieving man's first flight. Students were challenged to master Buoyancy by creating a life raft that could save 40 souls (golf balls). The class average was around 23, the high was 31. They are learning that just because we know a law and the concepts, mastering it to do your bidding is harder than it seems.
