Welcome: Krissy Hales
Mr. Patterson went over the following Principal Report Items:

1. BARK
A. This program scans through the student’s school google account and tracks which sites students have visited and sends information to the principals when a student is engaging in inappropriate sites or conversations.
B. Parents can sign up for an account if they wish to do so at no charge to them. They can also purchase an account for their families at home.
C. Parents who sign up for BARK will receive the same notice that principals receive.
D. This program will also detect self-harm and bullying issues on the student’s district web account.

2. Digital Portfolios:
A. Orion principals and teachers are really excited about this program.
B. Students are starting to see the benefits of the program for themselves.
C. Students don’t see their progress day by day, but as they look back over their portfolio they see their improvements and progress.
D. There are two pieces to the portfolios.

1. Are our teachers getting on board and stressing the benefits of the student portfolios to them?
2. Do our students feel the value of their portfolios?

E. As the students work on their portfolios, the hope is that they will bring their personalities and interests into them so they see their personal value and accomplishments.
F. Students will own the ARL and be able to access their portfolio after they graduate from high school.

3. Data Dashboard
A. Shows students’ scores on the end of level tests
B. Students will add this information to their own Data Dashboard so they can see what their scores are and begin to own their scores and have a desire to improve.
C. They will be able to see where they are and how they can improve and do better on the standardized test.
